February 20, 2018

Hey,

This has been a really busy week. The Missionaries in my zone seem to be excited for this Transfer. It cool to see how as a whole if we all our united in Purpose that miracles begin to be poorer out upon us. There has been a lot of challenging people to be baptized this week. In the past week there has been about 7 people who have accepted conditional baptism. We are just excited to see the lord blessing us to be able to help them into the waters of baptism.

I am super excited for this Transfer. On Sunday Elder Ravsten & myself were able to receive a blessing from the bishopric. It was such a spiritual experience for me. What was spoken in the blessing I know with out a doubt that it was given by the spirit. The things spoken were things that I needed to here. I do not know why I am so amazed every time I feel the spirit but I just love the comfort that I have as i have those experiences. This is the 1st week that we will be working in both the Goethe Park Ward along side the YSA. I am excited. There is going to be a lot that needs to be done but I am really excited for the coming weeks to work with both Wards.

Right now Elder Ravsten and I are good. We are just trying to help the missionaries that we are working with to become a Challenging & Testifying Missionaries. It has been so cool to see the change in just the short week as we become the message that there are so many people that have a change in heart.

We had a baptism this last Saturday. It was cool to see as Alvin has been working toward getting baptized that he was able to be baptized. It was so amazing to see him after he was baptized. It seemed like he was just in a daze. He was so excited to be able to be baptized. He is going to do some great things as he continues to follow Jesus Christ.

Elder Gillins a missionary that I trained a couple transfers back finally got his visa to go to the Philippines. It was sad to say good by to him but I was grateful for the time that I got to spend with him. He will probably miss all the amenities that comes from living in the United States. But he is now where god needs him to be.

With deepest regards & much love!

Love,

Elder Berry

Dear Family & Friends,

I just wanted to write you today and say that this has been a great week. I absolutely love this last Transfer! Yes transfers ha e come again. I will be staying with Elder Ravsten for at least another 6 weeks. There has been so many great things happen. To start we were able to figure out what is going on with our investigator Kat witch brought a lot of relief to Elder Ravsten & myself. It is such a blessing to have the spirit tell you of things that are truth. But one thing that I have been learned recently is that the spirit will testify of all truth, but it will not if you have done something to offend it. I have really noticed it when I am trying to listen to the spirit and sometimes it isn’t not there as strong as I would like I have to look and see where I am out of balance and make adjustments to get the spirit more abundantly in my life. When the spirit is in more abundance it makes missionary work so much easier!

Also you will be a little jealous when I say the the average temperature recently has been between 70-75 degrees Fahrenheit. It has been so nice. That I think is the best temperature to have in a day. Not to hot or cold but just right!

Then this week we had a lot of people at church. There was 2 Investigators (Alvin & Kat). Then a returning less Active (Malaya). All of them are awesome. Alvin will get baptized this Saturday. Then Kat is working toward the 24 of February or March 3rd. It so cool to see as we Challenging people to be baptize that they actually except. I wish that would have been something that I would have learned earlier because more people are willing to be baptized  then You would expect. The lord is always preparing people. They can’t change unless you invite them.

Then last night we were able to gather together To set a goal for the coming Transfer for baptism. It was cool knowing that it wasn’t just the missionary goal. We set the goal with the stake leaders. It is indeed a goal between missionaries and the stake. Next Sunday we are going to get together with the whole zone, the stake Presidency, Brother Jensen, all the Ward Mission Leaders to come together to get behind the goal of 8. It has been so cool to see the excitement of the stake to be able to set this goals! I am really excited & anxious to see what great things happen this Transfer!

This week we also had MLC. We learned a lot to be able to be better people, missionaries, and disciples of Christ. No matter what you learn as long as it’s centered in Jesus Christ you will come out a better person as you apply its teaching in your life. Jesus is the Christ! He lived a perfect life. And as we try to be like him we one day will get there. Vince Lombardi said something to the effect of “we must chase perfection. We will never reach it, but in the chase of perfection we will reach excellence!”

Hope you have a great week! If you don’t make it the best week of your life!Let me know if i can do anything for you!!

Love,
Elder Berry

Hey everyone,

This week has been a really fun. On Saturday I got to see a baptism of a man named Donald Longman. He is someone that I worked with him when I first started my mission. It was really cool to be able finally see him be baptized after not being able to  for 15 Months!! It is such a blessing to be on the lord’s errand and to see his hand in your life. The cool thing is that we can all see the Lord’s hand in our life if we are searching it out.

Then my comp had his bike stolen. He left his bike on the porch and he didn’t lock it up. The next time that we needed to get it was not there. It really through you for a loop when we were thinking that we live in a safe place. But it’s all good we are still having a great time.

Then we have a baptism coming up on the 17th Of a man with named Alvin. He is really cool. He was contacted at sac state college and once he got the answer that the Book of Mormon is true there is nothing that will be stopping him from getting baptized. He is very determined to get baptized.

Then we got a another referral of this woman named Kat. She is moving in from Colorado. She has been taught just about everything and because of having to move for work she wasn’t able to be baptized. We will meet with her tonight and hopefully extend a date to her for the end of the month. It’s super exciting to see all of the work that the lord is doing in Sacramento.

I hope that you all have a great week!! I love you!!

January 29, 2018

Hey,

I hope all is going well for those of you how are reading this email. I just wanted to say thank you for all the birthday wishes. This birthday has been a great one and I am grateful to have to look forward to another year of lots of memories and time spent with family and friends.

This week we had Zone Conference. We learned a lot about the importance of having balance in your life. It’s cray how that principle applies to all things. One thing that that I definitely took was trying to make sure that you are doing enough for everyone one you serve. Making sure that there is no one left behind. Like the Savior would go and leave the 99 to find the 1 lost sheep.

We were able to meet with our investigator Alvin a few days ago. He is working to get baptized on February 17 and he is really excited about that. So keep him in your prayers that he will be able to make it to then.

I am sorry this email is short. There is a lot that happened but I am so tired I can’t think about what happened. I do hope that you have a great week!! And know I love you!

Love, Elder Berry

Hello,

This week went by to fast. You will have to forgive me because this week went by so fast I forgot to take some pictures. But this week is really good. We had a lot of team ups and one exchange.

The exchange that I got to go on was with one of my old companions Elder Yorgason. So was really fun to be able to be back with him. He speaks Spanish so people that said they could not speak English he was able to talk with them. A cool experience that we had was when we went all day trying to put ourselves in a positions to talk with as many people as possible seeing how we didn’t have many teaching appointments. This morning there was not a whole lot of people out. The people that were out didn’t want to talk to us. So it was a slow morning. The same thing happened happened in the afternoon then the evening. It was time to start to head home but we had time to talk to one more person. We decided to say a preset before we went and say the person. After the prayer we looked around and decided to go to this one house. We knocked on the door and a young couple answered. We stared to talk with them and after about 3 minutes they asked if we wanted to come in and talk some more. Elder Yorgason and myself could believe it. Not once on our mission have we had a total stranger invite us into there home. We go in and teach a brief restoration and gave them a Book of Mormon. I hope the return appointment went well. It was just really cool to see the spirit work as we as man try our best to listen to it.

Then I had the opportunity to speak In church. I speak on the importance of members sin missionaries work. I think that I did a good job. I spoke with a recently return missionary so there was more people there then normal. It was a really good sacrament.

That was the most of the week. I hope you all have a great week!!

Sincerely,
Elder Berry
