February 13, 2017

Hello everyone,

Time has flown by. I can't remember what really happened this week but I will sure try to remember what happened.

We started off the week by going on exchanges. I went with elder Dougherty. He is from Enterprise, Utah but he has family in Rexburg. It's just a small world that we got called to the same mission but yet we have been able to go on several exchanges. I think my dad is coaching Elder Dougherty's cousin.

Then after that we went and contact this lady named Denice. A super nice lady that when we were talking she asked us if we have met her before. We of course said no but she was pretty sure that she had met us about 10 years ago. Kind of strange but who knows the lord works in weird ways some times.

The area book app that we use to plan our day crashed on a world wide level. So that was kind interesting to be able to try and remember you plans. But it all worked out the church got it back up and running so everything should be all good.

Then it is super fun being with Elder Hatch. It's cool to see all of the growth that he has had in just two short weeks.

Sorry this letter is so short the week flew by so fast I just can't remember what else happened.

Hope you all have a great week.

Sincerely,
Elder Berry

Hello everyone,

This week flew by. I don't know where all the time is going it seems like just yesterday I was having Thanksgiving and thinking in just one month I will be able to Skype home. Now we are coming up on General Conference in just a few short months.

This week has been full of meeting down at the mission office. There has been a lot of driving but thankfully the weather has been fair and there has been nothing to extreme when it comes to the weather. We have seen some places that have flooded a little bit because of all the rain but this area needs it. And I am making sure that I am staying dry and safe when biking in this weather so you don't have to worry about that at all.

This week we started to teach this lady by the name of Josephine. She is a great lady. She has been looking for the true church for a while now. She has tried to see if a lot of churches are true from Jehovah Witnesses to Catholic. She has shown some really strong interest in our church and we have not been teaching her for very long but I am way excited to see where this goes. She really already has a strong testimony of what we already believe just the big thing now is to get her a testimony of the Book of Mormon. Once she gets that there will be no stopping her. Then she has worked on Sunday's but she said that she will come to church this following Sunday witch we are super excited about.

Then we have been teaching a boy by the name of Joseph. He is in a part member family and it great to work with him because he already has a foundation to gain a testimony of the church but the challenge has been trying to get his mom back to church so that he does not get baptized and become less active. As missionaries it is not a good thing to baptize kids into a less active family because they then become less active by default. Kind of sad but it happens more then you would think. So hopefully we can get them both to coming to church and becoming active again.

Other then stressing out about training a new missionary it the same old here in Sacramento. If you have any questions for me feel free to ask me and I will try to answer them.

I hope you all have a great week!

Sincerely,
Elder Berry

Hello everyone,

Transfers have come once again. I am staying in the same ward. My new companion is Elder Hatch, he just came from the MTC. It is super exciting because he has a lot of energy and we are going to be able to do a lot of great things together. He is from St George, Utah. He graduated high school in 2016. He play rugby in high school as well. He is a super cool Elder. I think I was lucky to get him as my companion because he is the best missionary out of his group.

By now many of you have heard about the schedule change. Yes it was a great thing to have that happen. Heavenly Father is really trusting us as missionaries because he is giving us a lot of flexibility is our schedule and it will be super important for all missionaries to stay obedient so we can utilize this new schedule change. With the new schedule change we as missionaries have a lot more free time witch really nice because we are now have more time to get stuff done.

This last transfer flew by I can't believe where all of the time wen it just seems like yesterday I was Skyping home for Christmas. Time flies when you are having fun. This week fun was bitter sweet because I had to say goodbye to Elder Young Yen. But I am super excited to be able to be with Elder Hatch.

Last week we went to this less actives door and they came to the door with a baseball bat just for safety. That was very odd. You don't normally see people coming to the door with a baseball bat but it was ok because the man was friendly and we had a good chat.

Then I just want to thank everyone for all the packages for my birthday. It was a really good birthday. I really did enjoy. Thank you all so much.

I hope you all have a great week.

Sincerely,
Elder Berry

Hello everyone,

This week we have received a lot of rain over the last few weeks. We have also have gotten a lot of wind. The wind was so strong that several trees have been blown over. The weather has been crazy but the weather has been needed for the coming summer because there has been hardly any rain during the summer. But I have been in a car for all of the bad weather so I have been safe.

We went on 2 exchanges this week. 1 with the zone leaders and the other one with the district leader. So it was pretty fun to get to see some of the Sacramento zone. When I was with Elder Pennington we went and work in the Fijian unit. It is pretty cool to because in my current zone there are 8 different languages.

We didn't really spend much time in our area because we were on two exchanges and we were both out of our area for 48 hrs. But it was really cool because I was able to learn a lot of stuff from the other missionary. One thing that I learned was the importance of staying focused in this crazy world. There is a lot things that are going on in the world and when I go to a restaurant and a TV is on with the news I loose focus on what I should be doing. I know why missionaries don't watch TV.

Then transfers are this week so they are holding all of the mail so I won't get any mail until Monday. But that's OK because it will help keep me focused on the work this week.

Hope you all have a great week, oh by the way I will email next Tuesday.

Love, Elder Berry

Hello everyone,

This week has truly been a blessing. I was able to be in a mission tour with Elder Rendlund. He truly is a man of God and the spirit that he caries is trying amazing. He talked about how we were all called of God to be mission. Then how President and Sister Jardine were called of God. Then finally he said that the Lord thanks us for out service and that was super cool to here from an Apostle of the Lord. Then he opened up the floor to a Q&A for like 1 hour. That was super cool and he was able to answer a lot of cool questions. Then to finish he finished with an apostolic blessing to all of the missionaries there. Super cool experience.

Then it was cool to be able to some old missionaries that I haven't seen in a while. There are a lot of times where life in the church is a small world. There are a lot of people that know a lot of people and it's cool to see the way that people are connected in the church.

But this week flew by super fast and I can't remember what else happen this week so I hope you have a great week.

Hello everyone,

There has been a lot of rain this week. A lot of people have been asking how the weather has been because there has been a lot of flooding in California. Luckily the flooding has not affected me at
all, but there has been a lot of rain.

This week people can't use the excuse that they will be gone for the holidays. So there has been a lot of success this week. We found a lot of new people to teach so that was a blessing because during
Christmas we didn't really have any. But there are a lot of people in the world that have a lot of interesting stories. It's really cool to get to know people and there story where they are coming from.

Then we have a mission tour this weekend and Elder Rendlund is coming to talk to us. I am super excited about what he has to say and what insight that he has to bring.

Then as a mission we found out who our new mission president will be. It will be President Hymas. From what I have heard he is really cool. He is from Provo, Utah. He sounds like a really great man of God.

Hope you have great week!!

Love, Elder Berry

Hello,

Well this was a different week being a missionary. Holidays didn't really seem like holidays. But it was still really good. The members are great out here and did a really great job at making feel like
home.

This week we had an investigator that got a blood infection. The investigator has been in the hospital all week but is good now. It was pretty different being in a hospital. People are a lot more friendly and willing to say hi because they know what we are about doing good and helping making
people lives better. Some time I just wonder why people don't just give you the time of the day when we are not in a hospital. But it is all good because life is good being in the service of our Heavenly Father.

This week was very slow because of the holidays. But the last few weeks just flown by and I don't know where they went. But it was still a really good holiday season. The holiday season really is a great time of the year. I hope that all we will all keep the holiday season up and keeping making the rest of the year great.

Then I went on an exchange with Elder Hallmark. I cant remember what happened on that exchange because things happened so fast.

Well I hope you have a great new year.

Love, Elder Berry
